Help Educate Voters to Combat Absentee Ballot Fraud. By Geniusofdespair

THIS IS WHAT EYE ON MIAMI WORKED FOR - if you know potential volunteers, forward this blog to them. PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR THIS TRAINING by calling Gary Hartfield at 305.499.8372. We can help stop absentee ballot fraud with this program, do your civic duty! Remember: CLOSE ELECTIONS ARE BEING STOLEN by absentee ballot fraud!

Here is a letter from Election Supervisor Penny Townsley describing the program:

In this important election year, the Miami-Dade Elections Department is preparing for the implementation of a countywide voter education campaign. A number of outreach events are scheduled across the County to inform voters about redistricting, registration, and voter protection. Specifically, this Department will be providing supervised voting for absent electors residing in assisted living facilities within Miami-Dade County; ensuring that every resident living in the facilities is able to cast his/her vote in a safe and convenient environment free from fear, intimidation or exploitation.

Since this is going to be a busy election year, we are in the need of volunteers to assist us. Teams consisting of representatives from different political parties will be assigned to participate in various events to educate voters. Training will be provided and every effort will be made to ensure our volunteers are knowledgeable of all election related rules and regulations. We hope that you will join us in making sure the upcoming August 14th Primary Election and November 6th General Election are a success by providing your time which, in turn, gives our voters confidence in the electoral process.

If you want to make an impact on your community and be a part of this important democratic process, please contact Gary Hartfield at 305.499.8372 to become a part of our team.

Penelope Townsley - Supervisor of Elections

A big thank you from us to Penny and her staff for all their work in setting up this program. I have already volunteered.

Gary Hartfield, another political hack, like Townsley, who didnt go through a competitive recruitment for his six-figure job. The Elections Department is chock full of them.

Gary Hartfield used to work for Burgess in the county manager's office. A few years ago, I saw Hartfield just hanging out in an office on the 21st floor of the SPCC with no duties. One month later, George Burgess appointed him to a Deputy Supervisor of Elections position even though Hartfield had zero elections experience. There was no job posting and no interviews.

Although a shocking appointment, it was also typical of the way corrupt Burgess ran the county like his own fiefdom and handed out executive jobs like candy to his unqualified cronies. Burgess did the exact same thing with Tara Smith who he appointed to the Chief Deputy Supervisor post supervising hundreds of elections workers when she previously had never supervised another employee in her life.

Gimenez must love those bogus appointments because he has done nothing to change them.

Sarnoff is the one who got away and will get away with all types of fraud because Miami whites think he is white and therefore represents them, Miami whites can't even get affirmative action right.

I find it shocking that all responses to this important request are negative. That is why nothing in Miami-Dade County will ever change.

People like you only want to complain and find fault without giving any thought as to how you can help remedy all the wrongs.

Here is a great opportunity for the people to volunteer, to do what is right and the only response we hear from you is about this man, Gary Hatfield.

Who cares about Hatfield and what he has done? Not me or those of us who understand how the system works. His actions, whatever they may be, are water under the bridge. He has had his time and blew it s, now we have to let him know how it is done. Why give him the credit for keeping us away so he can jump right back in and destroy?

Now we have the chance to go into the “den of iniquity” and change the way things are done and all you can do is bring up old facts and disagreements about one man?

You just don’t seem happy unless you are bashing someone. All of you complain ad infinitum about all that is wrong with the County and when we have a glimmer of hope to make things right you are still complaining?

Let me tell you this because I know. I have been there and you need to understand that Good government is hard work, not only by our representatives but by those of us who have the guts, influence and knowledge not only to turn things around but by keeping a steady watch on our so-called leaders and call them out when they get out of step.

And if you are not in any of those categories, then shut up and keep quiet because you have become the problem and not the solution.
Don’t you realize that elected officials know this? They know you all are too lazy to get up from the comforts of your homes and set your holier than thou attitudes aside so at least we can learn something about how this can be fixed?

The ball is in your court…don’t volunteer if you don’t want to…but at least stay silent and keep your damn mouths shut so those of who want to get hold of protecting our votes can do so without listening to your constant babbling.

And Genius, don’t beg them. Leave the sorry lot alone to be unhappy among themselves while we grab the bull by the horns, roll up our sleeves and get busy!!! !

I'm going to be optimistic here. At least we now have a law with some teeth! I hope the naysayers will volunteer or at least attend the training to look and see what they're trying to do.

Between the ALF abuse scandal which the Herald covered (and won an award for) and the AB scandal, which Eye on Miami (GoD in particular) covered as ferociously, how about a "Thank you"!

To all of those who want to bash the elections department, can't say I don't agree with some comments, except this issue is our democracy at stake with voter tampering and continued abuse of human beings as victims of their caretakers. What part of this is so wrong don't some of you get? Are you really that short sighted?

I wish the elections department the best and hope 2012 brings a clean election - well, cleaner than normal for Miami! And, I truly hope candidates don't get determined by the AB vote. If they do, we at least know where and who to put the microscope on?

By the way - is anyone watching Sasha the AB queen or the husband of RTL Lynda's aid? Those two should be doing the perp walk soon enough - I hope!
